Hi Bill,

Are you aware of the program Larsen VB written by Luca Dormio. It's written in
Visual Basic 6.0 and has an opening book with a seperate editor as well. The
source and executable are available on his home page:

http://digilander.iol.it/larsenvb/

Looking at his source written in a similar language might give you some ideas.
The only caveat is that his comments are in Italian :(
