Subject: Mate # > depth searched ??

I started having Fritz6 analyze a game and it's analysis was showing -#29 though
the depth was only 14/36. How could the program see a mate 29 moves deep but
only be searching 14 moves deep? I'am sure there is a logical reason for this
but I don't know what it is.
