Three possibilities: 1. search extensions can extend the search along selected lines so that a program can find deep mates. mate in 29 moves is a bit much for this so I doubt this is the case here. 2. hash hits can graft parts of a tree together in strange ways, producing mates far deeper than you might expect. But I doubt this happened here either. 3. A tablebase hit deep in the search is the most likely explanation...
