What do you mean he played for a draw? With White, Hubner played e4 and went for
the Ruy Lopez main variation. If he were playing for a draw, he would have
played something else, like the exchange variation. Who is avoiding the main
lines of the french??? Fritz is dodging them. Fritz played exd5 against the
french and Hubner is playing for a draw? From the openings, I could say that
Fritz is playing for a draw, then again, this is a match and may be Fritz
is getting nervous :-)
