I remember from another post that it was +8000 and not -8000. I tried some games and did not find better results for different threshold. Changing the threshold parameter in games does not make sense for people who know the meaning of this parameter and I want to see one example when changing the threshold parameter change the move so I can test it in my computer. changing the threshold parameter in analysis make sense and it means that Junior analyze only moves that are good enough(above the threshold evaluation) but when I give Junior to play in engine-engine games it simply ignore the threshold parameter. I believe that different moves may be only result of learning or result of the fact that the program is not deterministic and in one case was slowed down. I need to see one case when changing the threshold change the move in playing conditions to be convinced that I am wrong. J7 plays a better game. On my Athlon 750, 384MB RAM, 20 >game engine match J7-GT2, score was 10.5-9.5 in favor of J7. After 10 games >J7-DF it’s 5.5-4.5 in favor of J7. 96MB hash, all 3,4, and 5 man TBs (5.5 Gig), >10'+5" , used book provided for each engine, ponder off, used defaults for other >settings. James walker posted similiar results with the default threshold. Uri
