Hi everyone, Being unsatisfied with the flexibility of WinBoard in interfacing to FICS, and being in any case the kinda guy who just prefers using my own code for this sort of thing, I decided to write a program to interface WinBoard-compatible chess engines to FICS/ICC. It's just about working at this stage, and I was wondering if anyone might be interested in using it. The low down: - it's written in VB (I know, I know, but it *was* quick) - it makes use of the Timeseal EXE supplied with Winboard - it is built around two COM components (server and engine) At this stage it's a little primitive, but I'd be happy to share it and it's code with anyone who's interested. The COM approach means you can build/customise your own interface in VB/Delphi/Whatever quite quickly; for instance you could knock together a TCP/IP-based autoplayer in no time flat. If you're interested, let me know what features would be handy to you etc, and I'll see if I can accommodate - otherwise, you can have the code... -Adam
