If GM's must be so cautious, they must know that the difference, if any, between them and computers is very, very small. I give credit to those GMs which play against a computer, the GM risks his reputation, hurting his ego, and has not much to gain. My guess is that when computer programs are 'allowed' to play in tournaments on a regular basis the pressure will be off the GM's and this question can be put to bed and chess programmmers can make some money. :) My question is, "Who is stopping this from happening right now? Is it the programmers or is it the USCF and FIDE?
