I haven't been clear in my message.
Assuming the king safety value is quite self explanatory, lowering will give
risky play, setting it higher will give less risky and more solid (i.e.
'stronger')play.

It was especially meant as a reaction to the "wood pushing around" statement you
cited.
I think that somewhat boring play comes from:
- a dull opening book
- a tendency of Chrilly Donninger to aim at STC (but I don't know for sure). In
those cases king safety and pawn structures, as well as high assessment of e.g.
the queen is in order, not to be caught by a complicated tactical combination as
answer to those weaknesses with lower values.

Most important is the division between computer chess only (and the difference
between blitz and STC) and making Nimzo play more adventurous in games against
yourself. In that case it's important (in my experience) to adjust values with
big steps A fiver added at the mobility parameter desn't change a thing. Make it
a twenty-fiver.

You are right in your assumption that it would take extensive testing with base
adjusted values like you mentioned and further fine tuning with lots of
c-c-games.

The values reset after you saved them and exited Fritz? That's true, happens
with me also. Must be a glitch/bug.
