Hi Fernando,

I have no idea what happened to Chris or what he did to get expelled
or if he quit etc. So I don't have an opinion in his case. But I
do find it very annoying to see a constant argument go on, (with
almost no content) back and forth where you can see each side is
ready to blow. Sometimes these kind of posts dominate and sometimes
they do not. But I think it very clearly degrades the level of
the newsgroup. I am never thinking what a great rich group this is
when I see these posts. Instead I'm just annoyed that there are no
quality posts. It's like watching trash TV but not quite as bad!
In most cases the posters are not bad people, they
just need to tone it down a bit. But welcoming this kind of behavior
to liven up the group is not a good idea in my opinion. Thorsten's
posts (and his opponents) I tolerate mainly because he does contribute
quality stuff occasionally and he's not completely out of control.
Still, I don't look forward to the junky ones and really hate to see
them.

However I do like some controversy which is inevitable when lot's of
people get together. I think it's possible to strongly disagree with
someone and yet be completely civil about it. If Chris left or was
expelled because of personal attacks on people or bad behavior, I
do not defend him. But I don't really know what happened in his case.

I am in favor of letting people back in who may have made a mistake
in the past, and regret it. But I think they should express a desire
themselves to come back. I see no reason to go after them when chances
are they don't want to come back, or would only come back to raise some
more hell.
