Assuming its true however (and I believe it is), there is a difference between speed gained through hardware, and speed gained through software. There's no need to gut your evaluation function for speed purposes when you have a few hundred specially designed processors at your disposal.. I'm also willing to bet that the eval on DB had a good bit of positional knowledge built in, but I suppose we will never know. -Kevin
