I could only find for you NPS for some programs if you will indicate special
position for trying. I have Fritz 6, Rebel 10, Hiarcs 7.32. At least on this
programs I can see NPS (nodes/per/second).

On 600Mhz I could see Fritz 6 to demonstrate around 250K per second for position
where still all pieces are on the board. Average number of moves should be
around 36. Rebel 10 will have around 180k.

If time of search will be 1 or 2 seconds, after what I could see, program will
make brute force search no more that 6 plys deep. This is once again for
position where all pieces are on the board and in action.

Cheers,
Leonid.
