Hartmut,

If you are still interested in trying to get your own gerbil book going I
have some simple tools that might help. I wrote routines to strip .pgn headers,
straighten games onto one line, trim lines to a given lenght, sort the lines,
and kill duplicates and substrings. You, or anyone interested, could send me an
email if you want the tools or source code. They work real well if you provide
good clean .pgn. The sort and kill duplicates routines are nice even if you only
want to add some new lines to an existing book.

I know sometimes Gerbil might want more 'MaxBook' in gerbil.ini. You might try
MaxBook = 524288 if you think this might be the problem.
