With the newest code of Eugene Nalimov, for "symmetrical" TBs, only one of nbw
and nbb is needed. kbbkbb.nbw and kbbkbb.nbb would be exactly identical anway
(at least I think this). This is also true, for the 4-men tables. Programs, that
use the newest source of Eugene only need one of KQKQ, KRKR, KBKB and KNKN. If I
understand correctly, however still .nbw and .nbb of KPKP are needed (pawn
positions have less symmetry ...)

AFAIK all table base access code of Eugene, that is prepared for 6-men TBs can
take advantage of the above mentioned symmetry. So, there is no need to have the
.nbb files at all. Older versions of Eugene's code (that also was not able to
access 6-men TBs) needed both files.
