Hi,

A position from Chess Informant vol. 80 in the Ending section has caught my
attention.
7k/4pq2/1p5p/p1p1P2P/P2p4/1P1P1Q2/2P3K1/8 b - - 0 1

GM Glek of Germany in his analysis of his game recommended the following line.
1...Qxf3+! 2.Kxf3 Kg7 3.Ke4 e6 4.Kf3 Kf7 5.Ke2 Ke7 6.Kd2 Kd7 7.c4 dxc3+ 8.Kxc3
Kc7 9.d4 Kc6 10.Kc4 cxd4 11.Kxd4 b5 wins.

In the actual game he played 1...Qg7 which could only draw.

Perhaps he missed the better move at diagram 2, (3. e6 instead of 3. Ke4)
diagram 2
8/4p1k1/1p5p/p1p1P2P/P2p4/1P1P1K2/2P5/8 w - - 0 2
[3.e6!! Kf6 4.Kf4 Kxe6 5.Ke4=],

I made some modification for the program to solve, diagram 3.
diagram 3
6k1/4p3/1p5p/p1p1P2P/P2p4/1P1P1K2/2P5/8 b - - 0 1
Is there any program that likes to play 1.. e6 with score favoring the black
side. There seemed to be only two logical choices for black here, Kf7 and e6.

Here is my main line:
1...e6 [1...Kf7 2.e6+ Kxe6 3.Ke4=] 2.Ke2 Kf7 3.Kd2 Ke7 4.c3 dxc3+ 5.Kxc3 Kd7
6.d4 Kc6 7.Kc4 cxd4 8.Kxd4 b5 wins

Regards,
Dinan
