What do you think, Bruce :
how many average users have or need multi processing units - no matter the cost
?
You gotta use a platform you might totally dislike otherwise, ( NT, W 2000 )I've
heard them say that the highest majority of folks use PC's a multi purpose
machines....not only to play chess ( better : let play ) on highest possible
level.

There - might - come a time, when those systems become a standard - but right
now it's kind of a wishing well of a tiny part of industries.

Just peek at INTEL and AMD - why do the continue developing single CPU's up to
1.700 + 1.400 MHZ ?

Because this is the will and buying decision of the overwhelming majority.
So, to me the conclusion, why in hell these amateurs of ICCA have changed to
this specific rule, is quite obvious.
