Then I read the source code for TSCP. I would recommend this approach to anyone interested in starting today except that I wouls substitute Bruce Moreland's Gerbil for TSCP as I feel it's more readible and better commented. As you probably know, this board is a good resource also. I asked so many "dumb" questions here that it's amazing they let me post anymore... If you have an account on ICC, you may find some chess programmers lurking in channel 64. Good luck, Scott
