Computer chess programmers don't seem to be, as a rule, very nationalistic. When I go, I hang out with the Germans, who are better at finding beer. They are more articulate in English than Americans anyway. There was an attempt to organize a contest by country at one of the WMCCC's, and the programmers balked. You could do a Germany and Holland versus the world, and they'd probably win. bruce
