It doesn't do any good to the cause by keeping them up there (in the eyes of the public). Just imagine Kramnic getting great results over Fritz, and everyone then saying (even slightly) that he would never have stood a chance against the legendary Deeper Blue, and chances are that he WOULD crush that too. Even possibly that Kasparov would, or others too. But it DOES look unfortunate that FRITZ should be put on such a high pedistal, when another program might be as good or better, e.g. Gambit Tiger 2. (soon to be followed by others, if not even now). In fact, on a super computer isn't a great "knowledge program" a much better bet than any Fritz? S.Taylor
