It was a very bad joke.   I have the utmost respect for Bruce.

I thought my joke would be obvious.

Spineless, weakling, almost worthless.  But better than nothing.  My criticism
of the ICCA is not a joke, but I doubt if I could do better.  And (as you
actively pointed out) at least they are trying.
