On my computer I have them on my hard disk...so in the endgame when I see the HDD light flashing and hear the HDD churning, I know they are working...also my NPS goes down the more they are accessed. If the CD rom is the loaction maybe your CD rom activity light will flash as it tries to get values. Ed
