Mr. Eassa,

German and Old English are very similar. It would be fun for you to study
German. The only phrases that you need to travel in Germany are: Wieviel kostet
es?--How much does it cost? and Wo ist das Badezimmer,bitte?--Where is the
bathroom, please?

After you study German, you will find that it will be rapidly forgotten if you
don't practice it constantly. Gender of the nouns is most confusing and will
probably be dropped as the language evolves. The idiomatic expressions are
quaint but we in english have silly phrases too.

German is a nice language, but unless you are a linguist, you will only be able
to say things like: Ich heisse Roy Eassa aus Amerika und Ich liebe
Komputerschach. I am Roy Eassa from America and I love computer chess. Forgive
me if I say things in german the way an english-speaking person does.

Go ahead and study german..you won't regret it. Maybe I should brush up on my
german too.
