"The Awful German Language by Mark Twain" site you referenced is a great laugh!

I'm hoping it's a LOT easier to learn to read German than to have to write it
properly! (Also, my best friend from high school days is German and would be
shocked if I suddenly could read his native language.)

As for German-only chess stuff, I've seen a lot. ChessBits site, as I recall,
plus several other web sites and discussion groups ... and some nice programs
I've downloaded, including the UCI-Winboard Adapter (manual) and many others I
don't recall at the moment.
