Check the Microsoft site to see if your hardware is supported. As for what you lose... I would say you lose the desire to hit your PC with a hammer. Win2K is much more stable. Many developers use win2k, so most programs run on it. If you play a lot of DirectX or old DOS games, then you might have some trouble with them. Bob P.S. Rebel 11 runs fine on my system (win2K).
