Hi Roy:
I have used windows 2000 pro for more than a year now. To put it simply I love
it. For a while I had a dual boot system (very easy to do) so that I could play
Mechwarrior 3 (it had problems installing on win2000). Other than a very old
dos game and mech3 I never had any problems with games. Most of the newer games
are compatible with win2000. If you apply the sp2 patch to windows 2000 there
is now the option to run the game in "compatibility" mode: either windows 95 or
windows 98.

I use a Geforce2 400mx 64meg video card and it runs beautiful. I would download
the latest video drivers from: www.nvidia.com and I would also apply all the
patches/sp2/directx 8a from microsoft.

I have used chessbase 8, fritz 6, and chessmaster 8000 on windows 2000 (the only
one that had a problem was with chessmaster 8000 but they have fixed the problem
in a patch). I love the crash free life... get windows 2000! Matt
