Go up one level in this thread
he was refering to the value of the fritzmark increasing by six points.
but this increase can happen under numerous conditions.
whenever there is a lightning storm, i always fire up my pc, and run the
fritzmark test. (you gotta be quick to do this now)----look outside
and soon as you see a large lightning bolt, run the fritzmark test.
at this time the air ionizes and is filled with free highly charged
molecules, carrying large amounts of current.
i will get about a six point increase in fritzmarks everytime.
you will notice a lot of flickering in your monitor,,,,this is normal
for this type of test. oh yea by the way---if the lights go out in
your house, or if you smell a repulsive odor coming from your pc,
then your test has failed.
but chris is right, what are you goint to do with the six point increase.
the windows 2000 pro cd cost me about $100. i tried it for awhile with
fritz6e. i was using 768 megs ram, with hash set too high (not sure),
i got the blue screen of death saying "hey man can you hang on for a
second i got to dump this file, and oh by the way after i dump this
file i will need to get you to reboot, and i dont give a dang about
your chess game". of course that ticked me off. so i format and
loaded windows 98se. other than that it seemed ok. i will get the cd
out again and try it later with a smp system.
