I was amazed by the little number of downloads for SOS ( others have lots more)
and I think your general maths sounds logical .

Maybe the issue is about the engines though. Someone buys a Fritz prog and after
a while would like to have another engine. He can buy some more at Chessbase or
he can download some for free.

An example: I have a Junior 6 - I can't find any reason why i should buy Junior
7. Or any other new Chessbase engine - the ones I have are already strong
enough. From time to time I'll try some of the new and interesting free ones -
why should I buy one of them ?
