Hi There,

I'm a collector of some "experience" and I'm sure I can help you ID that
machine.

First lets ask the obvious...do you have access to a digital camera so you can
send a photo?

Otherwise...tell me the model # and serial number on the bottom of the machine.

That fact that it has an LED on every square narrows it down to 1979 or 1980.
Sounds like you are describing a Chess Challenger 8 but there are a handfull
that fit that description.

Another thing you can do is go onto the site below and click on "oldies" then
select "Fidelity". Check out the photos and try to spot one that looks like
yours.
