I bought several models around 1982 that had an LED on every square.  One I
recall by name was the Fidelity "Champion Sensory Challenger" (CSC).  I know it
was well after 1981 because I graduated from college in '81 and had no money to
buy anything for at least 1/2 year!  The CSC was the first one that played over
1500 strength, as I recall.
