Thanks for your help. I checked out the site you suggested and both Challenger 8 and Challenger 9 look very close, although not completely identical in all details. I do not have a digital camera. I can tell you the sticker on the underside says Model SCC and serial no. 13171439 and says it was made in the USA. I'm inclined to think this is a Challenger 9 because except for the color scheme, the appearance is so nearly identical. But even there I notice a slight difference in the appearance of the vertical row of 8 keys. eric
