I enjoyed watching this game live today.  There were a bunch of spectators, and
they were definitely of the belief that Fritz was going to win the game.  I
think that people actually started leaving around move 41, believing the game to
be over.

I don't know whether Garompon found a resource that would have worked against
anyone, or whether he simply hoped/believed that the computer would be unable to
resist going for a protected passed pawn.  Whatever the case, the fortress he
built was very nice.

As was indicated in another post, Fritz had +1.5 in the final position, and so
did other computers that were following along.  It would be interesting to see
if anyone would evaluate the final position as much closer to a draw.
