WindowsME IS a virus. I had it on this computer when I got it, and it was one headache after another. Fortunatly, a brownout destroyed that harddrive, and when I installed a new one, I used Windows98 instead, and it's roughly 5000 times better and more stabile. Have you checked you computer for viruses? You could try reinstalling the driver for your CDrom. Or you could use WindowsME's system restore feature (I forget where that is) and restore your computer to a date from before you started to experience problems with the CDrom. That's probably the only worthwhile feature of ME's. Pete
