Interesting you say that, there is something similar (but perhaps a little more

Check out the graphics, they look pretty cool!

When I saw this robot war simulator/game, I too made the connection to computer
chess.  Why are we all so addicted to comp chess?  Perhaps because it is one of
the few successful applications of AI?  (Sorry, not wanting to start a flame war
here).

As a side point, I believe the company that wrote this game is from New Zealand
(as am I).
