Subject: How to correct erroneous Fritz6 message with Hex Editor?

Author: Stephen A. Boak

Fritz6 erroneously annotates the first move not in book as:
'last book move'
when using Tools/Analysis/Blunder Check.

I reported this a while ago to Steve Lopez at Chessbase and he replied something
like 'I thought that was fixed. It was a known bug I thought we got rid of in a
prior version.' But each released update since then has still not fixed the
problem.

I often use Fritz6 to analyze OTB games for friends and I don't like having to
explain this error every time, or having to add a special text note that
explains that it is incorrect. It bugs me too, to repeatedly read this improper
label in my own OTB games that I've analyzed with Fritz6.

Does anyone know how I can edit the proper file, using a Hex editor, to read:
'first non-book'?

Which file will likely contain this string?
What would it look like in the Hex editor?
How should I search for this string, using the Hex editor?
What will the replacement phrase look like in the Hex editor?

I downloaded a trial copy of UltraEdit-32 to use for this task.

Thanks in advance for any help.
