I have similar problem except mine involve shutdown.I think Me has some difficulties handling hard drive access. One problem I had with ME as opposed to 98 Se is that the tablebase files under Chessbase werent working right. It is due to the "restore' feature of ME. I had to disable it to wuit my computer from thrashing the HDD at the end of every game. Ed
