I started KBNK with just wk in the a1-d4 quadrant, however: [D]k7/8/8/8/8/8/7B/6KN w - - 0 1 1. Kf2 Ka7 2. Ke3 Ka8 3. Nf2 Ka7 4. Nd3 Ka8 5. Nb2 Ka7 6. Kd4 Ka8 7. Kc5 Kb7 8. Na4 Ka7 9. Kb5 Ka8 10. Kc6 Ka7 11. Nb6 Ka6 12. Bb8 Ka5 13. Nd5 Ka4 14. Be5 Ka5 15. Bd4 Ka6 16. Nb4+ Ka5 17. Kc5 Ka4 18. Kc4 [D] 8/8/8/8/kNKB4/8/8/8 b - - 0 0 working backwards as we would do constructing the db, the wk is about to leave quadrant 1 for the first time (Kc4->Kc5), but we won't have the position it's coming from with reflection because that's a m/12 and we haven't generated any of those yet?
