Just one figure, to illustrate what I call crisis here: The computer whith which I'm writing this, has *1.183* DLL-Files on it's HD. And I don't have many applications installed, only the usual collection of chess programs so to speak, and some little tools. Not even MS Office or something of that size. Or when I look in BOOTLOG.TXT in c:\ to see what is happening during a boot only. This file has *1.162* lines! Obviosly Windows ME does >500 different things during the start. OTOH, DOS/Windows has most often worked very well for me through the years (with one or two OS catastrophes in between). Regards, M.Scheidl
