There's a nice new notebook from Compaq - the first one with an Athlon 4
processor, 850 MHz. Very good for your favorite computer chess program, BTW.

Why don't you try to buy it without Windows? Or you can build it yourself..

Most likely, you'll have to PAY for a copy of Windows ME of which you already
have one or more licenses and which you don't need anyway, that PAY for the
upgrade to Win2K (or, soon, XP).

Unfortunately, one cannot live without Windows. That's what a de facto monopoly
is all about.

This whole discussion has been twisted round too much. It was not about people
"stealing" (???) from Microsoft, it was about Microsoft ripping people off.
As I said, they are the real pirates.
