Eriq,

As a stone mason you know that a plain brick wall is boring. To spice it up you
add embellishments. Arches and accents are de rigeur for modern architecture.

Mr. Paul Morphy quit playing chess because he was too good and it was after all
only a game. It is always the case that any activity can become boring if it is
engaged in monomaniacally. You know that you are mentally healthy if you choose
a variety of avocations.

I own a 20 inch Newtonian telescope, a 7 inch Maksutov and 16x70mm Fujinon
binoculars. I rotate the use of these instruments so that I don't become bored
with amatuer astronomy. Comets and the moon and the milky way are best seen with
the binocs. I you want good planetary or star cluster views then the Newtonian
with an off-axis mask is preferred. The Maksutov does well on low power views
of general objects. When I get tired of observing then I do research on my
computer.

I own many other things. I get bored with them all. If I concentrated my
thought on just one object then I would go nuts. I find that a $100.00 radio
can give me as much pleasure as a $10,000.00 hifi system.

The motivator at this site is to brag about having the fastest, "bestest", and
leanest computer chess program/computer system. That is great. Just like
having a fast race car floats a lot of people boats, having a neat-o-keen
computer system means that you are serious about computer chess.

Don't worry that you are becoming bored. This is normal.
