This idea belongs to Les Fernandez. ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/C.A.P.%20Biographies/LesFernandez.doc Some ways to use it: Suppose you are looking for a position in a database to decide what to do... The position is not there... Rotate the position to all of its equivalent permutations. You have suddenly multiplied the chances that you will find it. Take some excellent and solid openings. Rotate them. Did any new and clever openings fall out of the permutation? The ways to use the idea from Les Fernandez are limited only by your imagination.
