In the USA, the courts have ruled that the person writing something
owns the copyright.  And the copyright does *not* have to be protected
by including some sort of copyright notice.  The court has instead held
that the copyright is something you must explicitly give up, rather than
being something you must explicitly reserve.

I don't have any problems with stuff being quoted that I write either,
although when someone like Chris wants to take a 'snippet' from a rather
innocent discussion here and make something more of it in r.g.c.c I
don't
deem that appropriate nor acceptable.

I assume that he either has a fake account here, or someone that is
forwarding everything to him?
