The problem with these posts is that we get complaints about them.
We have had complaints about this topic already, and (personally) I don't like
having to deal with complaints.

Consider:
There are lots of people who *work* for Microsoft that read and post here.
And no, the complaints have not come from MS employees.

Please go to USENET and holler about advocacy over there.  There are plenty of
forums where rabid OS fans rave about how wonderful their favorite OS is and how
stupid all the others are.

If you just want to talk about the features of Linux, or whatever -- as to how
it is a nifty environment for programming chess -- there is nothing wrong with
that and perhaps it should even be encouraged.  But OS wars never lead to
anything but petty bickering and lots of "Moderator Complaint Forms" that
*someone* will have to handle.
