Hi,

Some comments on this game, in which I was operator for Gandalf:

1. After 40 moves Black was clearly winning. Ferret didn't seem
to find a suitable plan during the game and both programs
   showed over +3 for Black.
2. 42 ... Qa1? complicates matters, where 42 ... Qd4! (also
expected by Ferret) wins very easily after the exchange of
   queens.
3. 43 e5! is a brilliant schwindle, the only chance to play on.
4. 43 ... Qxa3? spoils the win. Ferret expected the obvious
43 ... Qxe5! after which Black is still much better.
5. 50 ... Kc8?? was the losing move, according to Ferret 50 ... Qxe5
leads to a draw. Unfortunately Gandalf still thought it was
better, but after Kc8? it was a forced loss.

Still, a fascinating game with great tactics by Ferret, after a
shaky start. Too bad for Gandalf, as it really played well op to
move 42. Had it played 42 ... Qd4!, the game wouldn't have lasted
very long.

Bye, Jeroen
