The tournament has 40 players with 12 grandmasters. The 10th rank is
rated 2500. The time control is 120/40+60/game. There are also several
killer-kids in the pack. One of them beat GM Gofshtein. Another, 11 year
old Eli Wabsha lost to GM Y.Greenfeld, but in the process got what I
think is the most crushing position ever reached by anyone who had to
resign 15 minutes later. I must get the game score to see what happened
there.

Junior (P2/333 80mb) won first round against an unknown Len Genrik (ELO
2230). This was not an impressive game for Junior. It had a middlegame
initiative, but was unable to do anything with it. White had an isolated
passed d-pawn, which seemed indestructible and later turned into a real
nuisance. However, the white king was a bit exposed, and when white
slipped, he got murdered. The winning move 39...Nh5 should make a nice
test-suite position.
