Nothing surprising about that whatsoever.

The same thing happens all the time.

The Seattle Mariners beat the Cleveland Indians.
The Cleveland Indians beat the Hated New York Yankees.
The Hated New York Yankees beat the Minnesota Twins.
The Minnesota Twins beat the Seattle Marniners.

Impossible?
Nope.  Not even surprising.
