Refering to past glory isn't really relevant. The question was whether you were any help to aspiring chess program authors, which seems to be answered by a no. It's possible to accomplish that without creating another Crafty clone. So the explanation doesn't hold water IMHO. And I don't see how it correlates to your wish to see more to Frans here. If noone cares that you're here and you don't care yourself, as you put it, then I don't see why Frans is important in that context. >And just one word about "promoting my program": I'm pretty sure I'm not doing >any good to my program's image by posting here. I'm naive about a lot of things. And to answer your question, I would say yes. At least in the beginning where the product is new, this place can serve as a good network. That is, under the assumption that people here have friends and that some of those are interested in chess software. And (in my short time here) I've seen more than enough semi-blatant attempts at direct marketing of various products. Probably tried a few of them myself. Regards, Mogens
