+49 =33 -18 is the impressive result GambitTiger 2 aggressive (GT2a) reached vs.
the strongest competitors available. This 65.5-34.5 takes GT2a 4 points ahead of
ChessTiger 14. Honestly speaking, this is not very much considering the distance
of 100 games. So there shouldn't be any definite conclusion about GT2a being
stronger. For advice ask the engine you like most. GT2a e.g. won 9 games while
CT14 won only 4 games within 40 moves. On the other hand ChessTiger plays more
solid. A clear vote for one of them really makes no sense. Interesting is that
in SSDF the normal GT2 is a bit in front of CT14 (not in my tourney) due to two
differences: 1st SSDF has played several hundreds of games, I have only 100
each; 2nd SSDF plays without the original CT14-book. Maybe the SSDF-guys get
inspired by my test results of GT2a and test this settings too. I'd be glad to
see that but I fear they will not do this because my tourney does not really
show a convincing result and probably one GT is enough for the list...what would
be a pity indeed. Maybe the members here write to SSDF and ask for this
testing?! Finally in my tourney I will test GT2a with a changed setting in the
ct.ini, SelSafety=8 instead of 6 which is default. This makes Tiger a bit less
selective and he might not miss some move which makes him win instead of draw or
so. The disadvantage of course is that he does not come so deep in the search
tree so that he might miss something important. So to verify if the advantages
at least equalize the disadvantages, I will play the last turn of my tourney, 90
games to go (10 have already been played vs. Shredder5), the fight vs. Shredder
5.32 has just begun this morning.
