Go up one level in this thread
There are only two rounds left, so only 2 points are up for grabs for each
engine.
The only programs that even have a mathematical shot at the multiple CPU title
are:
Junior [6.5] (MASSIVE favorite at this point)
Quest [5] (Not "Johnny" but Fritz)
Crafty [4.5] (requires Junior to lose both matches and Crafty to win both just
to get into a playoff)
Of course, Chess Tiger could possibly have a better score than Junior when the
smoke clears (though this is quite unlikely). Still [according to my
understanding] Chess Tiger cannot with the Multiple CPU title, even if it beats
all the multiple CPU engines.
For the single CPU race, it boils down to:
Chess Tiger [5] {Sitting in the cat-bird seat, but not out of the woods yet}
Rebel [4] {realistic shot to win}
Shredder [4] {realistic shot to win}
Goliath [4] {realistic shot to win}
Gromit [3.5] {real dark-horse}
Gandalf [3.5] {real dark-horse}
Isichess [3] (requires two chess tiger losses and two wins to make a playoff
[1])
Tao [3] (requires two chess tiger losses and two wins to make a
playoff[1])
One win or two draws for Chess Tiger cements at least a playoff for the
championship.
Some of the above could be mathematically eliminated already depending upon how
they are paired. In other words, it might be impossible for all of the programs
above them to lose the required point totals to keep them in the running.

[1] And also that all of the other engines above them do not exceed their point
total. Consider the chances abysmal.
