Ok, I'll take the bait.

From my viewpoint, this championship is:
1. A chance for all the engine developers to get together and talk shop, maybe
socialize some.
2. A contest of sorts, but with an outcome that is largely inconclusive.
3. Something for everyone on CCC to talk about, and an interesting event to
follow.
4. Sure, we can expect the results to be used for marketing a program, but I
think you can hardly blame anyone for doing so.
