Dan I do not understand the single-dual argument, other than as a surrogate for computer speed. It may be that many users do not have >1GHz singles. (What was the relative speed difference between the singles anyway compared to the top singles and duals.). The argument would seem to be about uniform platform or not? Maybe it needs to be agreed what this event is all about: a showcase for programs that an average user can use; or a showcase for computer chess running on something you do not need a fork lift truck to carry and can buy in a shop.
