IBM claims that 11(6) means 17 plies but vincent does not believe them. If 11(6) means 17 plies then the impression that I got based on analysis of the logfiles is that other programs have better extensions than Deep blue because I saw cases when they can see the same start of the main line at smaller depthes. If people are interested in comparing the analysis of Deeper blue with the analysis of Deep Fritz or Junior7 or Crafty18.10 then I have no problem to help but I am not going to do alone all this project of giving top program some hours for every position that Deeper blue pondered. I think that complete analysis of these positions by other programs may give better information and we can see in cases that both saw the same line if the commercial programs are faster or Deeper blue is faster. It seems that nobody or almost nobody except me is interested in the analysis of the positions from these games for hours so I do not do it because if I do it alone or almost alone it is going to take too much time. If I spend 5 hours per position and use my computer 20 hours per week for Deeper blue-kasparov games then I need years to finish the job and I am not interested so much in the problem in order to give my programs more than 20 hours per week or to wait years for all the relevant information.
